Find

Use this window to search for specific text within the data in the event list.

Complete this window as follows:

Column list/Column

Select the column on which you want to search.

Value

Type the search value that you want to match. You can enter an exact value to search for, or enter a regular expression.

Options

Specify the type of match required:

Select Case Sensitive if you want to find only occurrences that exactly match the case of the search value. This option is available only on Windows.
Click Exact Match to find rows where the data in the selected column exactly matches the specified search value.
Click Regular Expression to find rows where the data in the selected column matches the specified regular expression.
Click Sub String to find rows where the data in the selected column contains the specified value somewhere in it.
You can choose only a single option from Exact Match, Regular Expression, and Sub String.

Find

Click this button to find the first matching occurrence. If a matching row is found in the event list, any currently-selected rows are deselected, and the matching row is selected. The Find window remains open so that you can view any additional matching occurrences.

Next

Click this button to show the next match, and subsequent matches, in the event list.

Close

Click this button to close this window.

Tip: You can quickly define your search criteria by dragging and dropping event information from the event list into the Find window. On UNIX, click the middle mouse button on a cell in the event list and drag it to the list of columns in the Find window. The Exact Match option becomes selected by default. On Windows, use the left mouse button to click and drag.
