You must sign in to a notification ObjectServer in order
to receive accelerated events.
About this task
To start the Accelerated Event Notification client:
Procedure
- Perform the appropriate action for your operating system:

Right-click over the floating notifier panel, and click Sign
In from the pop-up menu. |

Right-click over the Not Connected icon
in the Windows system tray
and click Sign In from the pop-up menu. |
The Accelerated Event Notifier login
window opens.
- Complete this window as follows:
- User ID
- Type your user ID for logging in to the ObjectServer that holds channel
definition information, and from which you want to receive accelerated event
notifications.
- If you are signing in to the Accelerated Event Notification client (after
previously signing out), your previously-specified user ID is displayed. You
can type a different user ID if required.
- Password
- Type the password for the specified user ID.
- Log In
- Click this button to log in to the ObjectServer.
- Cancel
- Click this button to cancel the login process and close this window.
Results
On successful login, you are connected to the ObjectServer,
and the
Connected icon is shown in the floating
notifier panel on UNIX, or
in the Windows system tray.
